Vina Cecilia Rosado DOP “Cili”

The wine is produced in the eastern part of Valencia, Spain. This is the hottest area of the country, with summer temperatures reaching up to 40°C.

This Moscato wine, made from high quality muscatel grapes, has become world famous by the hands of Spanish winemaker Fernando Tarin. Inspired by the Spanish Mediterranean atmosphere and the heat of summer, this is a masterpiece.

Fernando has deep roots in the wine world as a member of a 3rd generation family of winemakers. Indeed, wine has played such a central role in the family’s life that it was used to dip his christening soother. He has continued this tradition with his two children and godchildren.

One of the world’s leading wine experts, British wine writer Oz Clarke, says that muscatel grapes are treated with contempt by most wine drinkers, but they shouldn’t be. In his view, more should be made of this grape variety, which is as old as wine itself and so versatile that it can be used to make sweet or dry wines, sparkling wines, semi-sparkling or sparkling wines.

Naturally low in alcohol, Vina Cecilia Moscato Rosado is an intense cherry-coloured Frizzante (Italian for sparkling wine) with a blue sheen, so fresh, sweet and crisp that it feels as if you are actually eating a grape that has just been plucked from the cluster. From the nose alone, you can detect aromas of ripe fruit and citrus. The palate is beautifully balanced, with sweet red berry and white floral aromas mixed with a hint of spice and citrus notes, while the mouth is filled with a tiny, very well-drained bubble.

The perfect accompaniment to any party, family and friends gatherings, either as a welcome drink or as an aperitif before a light dinner. It is recommended with lightly spiced and grilled chicken dishes, as well as shellfish, prawns and leaner fish. It is also an excellent dessert wine to finish off a meal with a colourful fruit salad, or on its own as a special dessert. A great choice any time of year!
