Sauvignon Blanc

In this category you will find the high quality, special sauvignon blanc wines that we sell. This is a light, “green” wine with a herbal flavour, which is very popular and unmistakable. It can be found in almost every wine region, which is why it has such a versatile style.

It’s worth a taste if you’re looking for a light aperitif, but it’s also an excellent choice with cheeses. Sauvignon blanc deserves a prominent place in the very diverse world of white wines, ideally served at a temperature of 6-8 degrees.

How to choose wine?
Choosing a wine is often not an easy task, which is why it’s worth doing your research, finding out what’s on offer and, of course, focusing on your needs. Will soft, light or full-bodied wines be right for you?

Do you want to give something special that will please the recipient? Are we organising a family celebration where we want to toast to a good cause? Or a dinner with friends with lots of conversation? It makes all the difference what wine you choose, and that’s where we can help.
Focus on white wines
On our website you can easily navigate our range, you’ll find our product categories right here on the home page. Such as rosé wines, red wines, dessert wines and white wines with a variety ofaromas, flavours and colours.

Among these, sauvignon blanc, a fruity dry wine, is a medium light and acidic variety. Its flavours can include gooseberries, honeydew, grapefruit, peach and passion fruit.

It is a wonderful choice for herb-infused sauces with chicken or fish dishes, pairs well with cheeses such as feta, and is also in perfect harmony with Asian cuisine.
Interesting facts about sauvignon blanc
The wine has its own celebration in the wine calendar: 3 May is International Sauvignon Blanc Day. The name of the variety probably comes from the French word sauvage, which means wild, as the grape resembles a wild vine. The green flavours of this grape come from a compound called methoxypirazines, and cabernet sauvignon has the same flavours.

The best of the variety is grown in the Loire Valley, where the cool climate produces a fruity, tart wine with a lively acidity. But equally outstanding are wines from New Zealand, Chile, South Africa, Moldova and the United States.

As a very versatile variety, it appeals to a wide range of wine lovers. Its flavour is typically citrus, most notably grapefruit. In warmer climates, it has more tropical fruit aromas. It is considered a semi-aromatic grape variety with high acidity, but this acidity can be reduced by oak fermentation.
