Moselle

The wines produced in the Moselle region are truly special. They are German products – the region is mostly producing white wines. They are based on Riesling from the Rhine. There are also dry, semi-dry and sweet versions of Moselle wines.

The grapes grown in the Moselle region ripen slowly, as it is one of the coolest regions in the world. The steep slopes require special skills and equipment to grow the grapes, but the results speak for themselves. Moselle wines are elegant and fine, and the Riesling from the Rhine is known and loved by many. Discover the range for yourself!

Germany’s famous Mosel region

The Mosel wine region is justly famous for producing the Riesling grape – known to us as Rhine Riesling. It is the base for many delicious drinks, but most surprisingly, it is also used to make sweet and dry wines. In Germany, wines are classified according to how ripe the grapes were when they were harvested.

Mosel is located in the western part of the state – in the Mosel river valley. The river meanders back and forth, creating a unique growing area. What is quite unique about the vineyards is that there are also very steep hillsides with slopes of up to 70%. This is also the reason for the special way in which the grapes are harvested.

The stony soil also provides an excellent basis for fine wines: it gives the plants the necessary warmth by reflecting the sunlight. This also has the effect of giving the wine a unique flavour.

The microclimate favours the cultivation ofRiesling from the Rhine – the cooler weather means that this grape variety ripens more slowly, making the wine both aromatic and light.

What Moselle wines can you order?

We also have a selection of white wines made from Riesling from the Rhineland in this category. RR Prädikatswein Juffer Kabinett 2021 is a dry wine with an alcohol content of 12%. Perfect with Asian dishes, poultry. RR – Rajnai Rizling 2021 is also a dry wine, popular with customers.

The Auslese Riesling 2019 Juffer-Sonnenuhr is a real masterpiece: a sweet white wine with a taste of candied fruit. It has a long finish – with mineral notes. Late harvested, made from selected grapes, it is recommended for exclusive dinners, but is also excellent with fruity desserts.

Mosel wines are also long-lasting: even after 3-4 years they will still have a fresh, aromatic taste.
