The Champagne Virgine T. Champagne House started in 2008, which was a great vintage. Its founder, Virginie Taittinger, was born into the world of champagne making, so it’s no surprise that she chose to follow the same path. Join us for a short story introducing the house of Virgine T. Champagne!
Where the love of sparkling wines takes root
Virginie’s father, Claude Taittinger, was formerly President of Champagne Taittinger. His mother Catherine de Suarez d’Aulan was the owner of Champagne Piper-Heidsieck. With such parents, it would have been almost impossible not to love and understand champagne.
Virginie spent 21 years at her father’s champagne house before leaving it in 2006, awakening her desire to start her own house. You will find the tangible results of this desire in our selection of Virginie Taittinger’s champagne house masterpieces.
The objectives of Virginie Taittinger
Virginie found it a huge challenge to start her own champagne house, but one that she took for granted. Her father had passed on to her all the knowledge he had acquired over the years about champagne: not just the technical knowledge, but also a passionate love of it. Virginie was later able to put all this to good use.
He and his son Ferdinand are making a new generation of sparkling wines. They are creating cuvées that not only appeal to a younger generation with their refined and elegant appearance, but also fulfil the main mission of the Champagne House, Virginie Taittinger’s aim to “seduce a new generation of enlightened consumers who are thirsty for modernity”.
Why we present the Virginie Taittinger Champagne House
The primary reason we have told this story is that we have been able to produce exclusive sparkling wines of the highest quality, from the hands of two cellarmasters, Virginie Taittinger and Ferdinand Pougatch. Long-aged sparkling wines are the main focus of the house.
Their style, by their own admission, is constantly evolving and changing, yet the deep-rooted fundamentals remain unchanged and their core values are never lost sight of. They make champagnes and they make them so that everything they drink is about enjoyment.
An example of this is their Virginie Taittinger Extra Brut, which can be purchased from Borsuttogo, their exclusive Hungarian distributor. This Champagne will surprise the consumer. Its wonderful colour immediately attracts the attention of the observer and then shows you what it is all about with the first sip. The fruity aromas and intense flavours are immediately captivating.
To make such a fine rosé sparkling wine requires special attention and expertise, which is given here. This champagne is aged in the Champagne house cellars for at least five years before the first tasting takes place, resulting in a rare masterpiece that can follow in the footsteps of the great Rosés Champagnes, deservedly so.
The results achieved
With more than twenty different champagnes, the Champagne House wants to prove to an open-minded public that this drink can have many faces. Their wines are creatively blended to create a rich palette of flavours, resulting in a diverse range of wines that is present all over the world and in collaboration with other renowned Champagne houses.
When we at Borsuttogo decided to present the Virginie T Champagne house, we had all these things in mind. They have entered our range in the spirit of high quality and a wide range of products, and their champagnes are also excellent representatives of the noble Champagne from which every champagne connoisseur should choose the best.
