This wine is clearly focused on one grape variety, namely Malvasia Biancara. For this wonderfully elegant wine, Varvaglione uses only flawless grapes, resistant to drought and hot summers, which are much needed in the warm Salento countryside. The grapes are planted only in the sun and receive a cool breeze from the Mediterranean. The sea breezes ensure that the Malvasia grapes cool down and retain their freshness. They are harvested at the beginning of the season and then transported as quickly as possible to the winery, where they are strictly selected and fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures. Finally, the wine is matured for 300 hours in steel barrels, resulting in this superb wine.

Puglia’s hot southern sunshine and the white grapes, called Salento Malvasia, give it its beautiful, brilliant golden yellow colour. It’s the meeting of the two that gives birth to a wine rich in aromas. It has a very intense bouquet of mainly tropical fruits and flowers (lavender, violet, jasmine) mixed with aromas of vanilla and honey. There are also hints of fresh lime and some green spiciness like mint, which round off the 12 e Mezzo fantastically. Mild on the palate, but with its fresh vitality, it completely captivates us. It stands out for its impressive liveliness and balance. Structured, harmonious, full-bodied, dry white wine with a gentle, delicate zest.

The lightness and freshness of Malvasia Bianca make it a good match for many dishes. An excellent choice for starters and light dinners. It pairs perfectly with a variety of grilled and roasted vegetables, fish dishes, seafood and soft cheeses. With its Italian character and rich flavours, it is guaranteed to be the jewel of the dinner table!
